Imaginations of Midsummer
《Imaginations of Midsummer》 explored childhood memories, imagined figures, and the fragments of emotion they hold through painting and sculpture. Curated by Seo Seungjun, the exhibition brought together Shin Changyong, Park Junsang, Joo Hoosik, and Hwang Jaewon. Familiar figures—including superheroes, the twelve zodiac animals, and dogs—carried memories, humor, love, absence, and solitude. Rooted in contemporary craft and design, the works formed a landscape where fairy-tale imagination and complex emotions coexisted. In a space reminiscent of a childhood room or a dream, the exhibition invited viewers to bring their own memories and feelings to the works and share in the sensibilities of midsummer.
여름밤의 동화
《Imaginations of Midsummer: 여름밤의 동화》는 유년의 기억과 상상 속 형상, 그 안에 담긴 감정의 조각들을 회화와 조각으로 풀어낸 전시였다. 서승준의 기획으로 신창용, 박준상, 주후식, 황재원 네 작가가 참여해, 슈퍼히어로와 십이지신, 강아지 등 친숙한 형상에 기억과 유머, 사랑과 결핍, 고독을 담았다. 동시대 공예와 디자인에 기반한 조형 작업들은 동화적 상상력과 복합적인 감정이 공존하는 풍경을 이루었다. 유년기의 방이나 꿈속을 연상시키는 공간에서, 관객이 자신의 기억과 감정을 작품에 겹쳐보며 한여름의 감성과 정서를 나누도록 제안한 전시였다.
