Geek Out
《Geek Out》 the first curated exhibition of ETHER LAB, took deep immersion in a subject or world as its starting point to examine the criteria that distinguish the mainstream from its margins. Curated by the art project crew AEEK, the exhibition brought together five artists—Oh Joosung, Kwon Soonhan, Ahn Jonghoon, Park Hanbin, and Lee Jihoon—whose persistent interests and individual sensibilities informed their explorations of popularity and originality, science and technology, and the body and religion. Conceived as a “Geek Lab,” the exhibition space became a site of ongoing questioning and experimentation. Through points of tension and affinity between the works, the exhibition revealed a diversity of perspectives, inviting viewers to reconsider how they see the world, judge others, and engage with art.

ETHER LAB의 첫 번째 기획전 《Geek Out》은 어떤 대상과 세계에 깊이 몰입하는 태도를 출발점으로, 주류와 비주류를 나누는 기준을 살펴본 전시였다. 아트 프로젝트 크루 AEEK의 기획으로 오주성, 권순한, 안종훈, 박한빈, 이지훈 다섯 작가가 참여해, 저마다의 집요한 관심과 감각으로 대중성과 독창성, 과학과 기술, 신체와 종교를 해석한 작업을 선보였다. ‘괴짜 실험실(Geek Lab)’이라는 테마로 구성된 공간은 정답을 제시하기보다 질문과 실험이 이어지는 장이 되었다. 서로 다른 작업들이 대립하고 닮아가는 지점을 통해 시선의 다양성을 드러내며, 세상을 바라보는 방식과 타인을 판단하는 기준, 예술을 소비하는 태도를 돌아보도록 제안한 전시였다.
