exhibition and publishing to
record the lives and work of
one hundred people.
Not a portrait of a face, but of the time a life has passed through. There is one criterion: a narrative with a turning point. Each story is shown in whatever form suits it best, then kept as a booklet — one exhibition becoming one book, until together they form an archive of one hundred.
Portrait은 갤러리 이서가 전시와 출판을 연결해 100인의 삶과 작업을 기록하는 장기 아카이브 프로젝트다. 얼굴이 아니라, 한 사람의 삶이 지나온 시간을 담는 또 하나의 초상이다. 기준은 단 하나 — 삶의 방향이 바뀐 '전환점이 있는 서사'다. 각자의 이야기는 형식을 미리 정하지 않고 가장 어울리는 방식으로 전시되며, 전시가 끝나면 한 권의 소책자로 남는다. 한 번의 전시가 하나의 책이 되어, 100인의 아카이브를 이룬다.
